Jesusito de mi vida participará en la segunda temporada de Ficciones Cortas, un programa-concurso de la televisión argentina (similar a Versión Española), que se emite en el Canal (á) y pretende mostrar “grandes historias en pocos minutos”. Al final de la temporada, el programa premiará a los mejores trabajos en las distintas categorías.

Ficciones Cortas está producido por Idealismo Contenidos y lo presenta el actor argentino Martin Slipak. Arriba podéis ver una promo del programa realizada por Canal (á).

Dear Child Jesus (Jesusito de mi vida) will participate in the second season of Ficciones Cortas, an Argentinian TV show aired on Canal (á) that aims to show “great stories in a few minutes”. By the end of the season, the best works in the different categories will be awarded.

El pasado viernes, 3 de diciembre se estrenó en España Biutiful, la última película del director mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 gramos) protagonizada por el actor español Javier Bardem, galardonado con el Premio al Mejor Actor en el pasado Festival de Cannes por su interpretación en el papel de Uxbal. En el reparto también podemos ver a nuestro joven actor Guillermo Estrella en su primer largometraje, interpretando al hijo de Uxbal (Javier Bardem).

Last Friday December 3rd, Biutiful, the latest film by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel, 21 grams), had its premiere in Spain. With Spanish actor Javier Bardem in the leading role, winner of the Best Actor Award in Cannes for his performance of Uxbal. Also in the cast, we can find our young actor Guillermo Estrella, in his first feature film, playing Uxbal’s son.

El pasado 15 de noviembre se estrenó el largometraje 18 Comidas, dirigido por Jorge Coira (El Año de la Garrapata). Una película coral, rodada con grandes dosis de improvisación, en la que podemos ver a nuestra actriz María Vázquez junto a Luis Tosar, Esperanza Pedreño, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Cristina Brondo o Víctor Clavijo, entre otros.

Last November 15th the feature film 18 Meals, directed by Jorge Coira (The Year of the Tick) had its premiere in Spain. An ensemble film, shot with a great amount of improvisation, where we can see our actress María Vázquez along with Luis Tosar, Esperanza Pedreño, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Cristina Brondo or Víctor Clavijo, among others.

Reportaje a Guillermo Estrella en Vogue Paris

Guillermo Estrella en Vogue FranciaCon motivo del estreno en Francia el 20 de octubre de Biutiful, el último largometraje de Alejandro González Iñárritu, la revista Vogue Paris publica un reportaje sobre Guillermo Estrella (protagonista de Jesusito de mi vida), que interpreta al hijo de Uxbal (Javier Bardem) en el film de Iñárritu.

El reportaje habla de los primeros pasos de Guillermo en el mundo del cine, y le retrata como la joven promesa que es, con media docena de premios en su palmarés. Podéis leer el artículo completo aquí (original, en francés).

On the occasion of the premiere in France of Biutiful, the last feature film by Alejandro González Iñárritu, next October 20th, the magazine Vogue Paris publishes an article about Guillermo Estrella (leading actor of Dear Child Jesus), who plays the son of Uxbal (Javier Bardem’s character) in Iñárritu’s film.

The article is about Guillermo’s first steps in the movie industry, and it portrays him as the up-and-coming talent he is, with half a dozen awards of its own. You can reed the entire article here (original, in French).

Se estrena en Cannes “Biutiful” de González Iñárritu, el primer largo de Guillermo Estrella

El próximo lunes, 17 de mayo, se estrena en Cannes la esperada última película del director mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, Biutiful, que compite por la Palma de Oro en la 63ª Edición del Festival de Cannes.

La película, rodada en Barcelona, está protagonizada por el actor español Javier Bardem, que interpreta a Uxbal, un hombre involucrado en la trata de inmigrantes ilegales, que se enfrenta a su amigo de la infancia, convertido en agente de policía.

En ella, Guillermo Estrella (protagonista de Jesusito de mi vida) interpreta al hijo de Uxbal (Javier Bardem). Desde aquí le deseamos toda la suerte del mundo a Guille en su salto al largometraje, aunque sin duda cuenta con dos padrinos de lujo, el tandem Iñárritu-Bardem, que tanta expectación ha creado entre la crítica y el público internacional.

Next Monday, May 17th , premieres at Cannes the awaited last film of Mexican director  Alejandro González Iñárritu, Biutiful, which is competing for the Palm d’Or in the 63rd Edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

In this film, shot in Barcelona (Spain), the Spanish actor Javier Bardem plays the main character, Uxbal, a man involved in the trade of illegal immigrants, who faces his childhood friend, now a police officer.

Guillermo Estrella (main actor in Jesusito de mi vida) plays the son of Uxbal (Javier Bardem) in Iñárritu’s film. From here, we wish ‘Guille’ all the luck in the world in his first feature film, although the team Iñárritu-Bardem has created already so much expectation for this film, amongst critics and audiences worldwide.

Guillermo Estrella en la serie “Padres” (Antena3)

El domingo 8 de octubre, a las 21:45 horas, Antena3 estrena la serie Padres, en la que el actor Guillermo Estrella interpreta a ‘Guille’, el hijo pequeño de la familia Mellizo.

La serie, que muestra la vida de dos familias en tono de comedia, se emitirá regularmente de Lunes a Viernes, a las 21:45, tras el estreno del próximo domingo. Para más información, podéis consulatar la web de Antena3.

Next Sunday, October 8, at 21:45 p.m., Antena3 premieres the TV series Padres (Parents), where the actor Guillermo Estrella plays ‘Guille’, the youngest son of the Mellizo’s family.

Presentación del catálogo Jara 2009 en Cáceres

El pasado jueves 2 de julio se presentó en Cáceres el catálogo Jara 2009 de cortometrajes extremeños, en el que está incluido Jesusito de mi vida y otros cuatro trabajos: El Padre (Luis San Román), Night in the city (Juan Raigada), Pánico a una muerte ridícula (Rubin Stein), y Plaza Vacante (Jerónimo García).

Ha sido un placer asistir al acto de presentación y haber tenido ocasión de charlar con otros creadores extremeños sobre la situación del cortometraje dentro y fuera de la región.  Desde aquí queremos desearles a todos mucha suerte en los festivales, y aprovechamos también para agradecer a la Filmoteca de Extremadura que nos apoye con este importante programa de distribución.

The presentation of the catalogue of short films of Extremadura, Jara 2009, took place last Thursday, July 2nd in Cáceres (Spain). This year’s edition contains our short Jesusito de mi vida (Dear child Jesus) and other four works: El Padre (Luis San Román), Night in the city (Juan Raigada), Pánico a una muerte ridícula (Rubin Stein), and Plaza Vacante (Jerónimo García).

It’s been a pleasure attending to the presentation and having the chance to talk to other creators from Extremadura about the situation of short film making inside and outside our state. From here, we want to wish all of them good luck at the festivals, and also we’d like to thank the people at the Film House of Extremadura for their support through this great distribution program.
